Plaid House is home to ten teenage girls who have been placed there through the Children's System of Care . The ages of the girls range from 14-18 years and referrals are accepted from anywhere in New Jersey. Plaid House is a community-based program that provides an array of therapeutic services. teh program provides an opportunity for residents to learn and grow through daily living experiences.Treatment plans are individualized for each child to take into account their diverse needs.
The group home uses an individualized level system to assist girls to progress towards their goals. As residents move up their levels they gain more rewards and privileges.
The staff provides a varied schedule throughout the week including recreational and educational activities. The value of good nutrition and health is emphasized and girls are encouraged to exercise regularly.
Individual and group counseling is provided on site and at least one of the clinicians is bi-lingual. There is also a therapeutic art program, yoga and pet therapy. All girls are seen regularly by Plaid House’s consultant psychiatrist.
